Eagles trained at Owens College Manchester and Sheffield. He was honorary medical officer at Hulme Day Nursery, clinical assistant at the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital Manchester and honorary surgeon to Hulme Dispensary. He later moved away from Manchester and became medical officer at Reynaud Cottage Hospital and medical officer of health for Willingham District Gainsborough Union.
