Administrative / Biographical History

MRCS LRCP 1876; BSc Manch 1904; MD Durham 1896.

Ferguson undertook his medical education at Owens College Manchester and was house surgeon at MRI. He was surgeon to the SS Mira before being appointed surgeon to the Northern Counties Hospital for Chronic Diseases in Manchester. Ferguson practised in Stockport Road, Manchester and was also a certifying factory surgeon. He was involved in local medical societies, being president of Manchester Medical Society and Manchester Medico-Ethical Society, and was also a member of Manchester Pathological Society. Ferguson died in 1944 aged eighty nine.
