Administrative / Biographical History

MRCS Eng 1881, LRCPI 1896.

Chronnell studied at Manchester and held house positions at Ancoats Hospital Manchester and MRI before working in general practice in Whalley Range, Manchester for 32 years. At the time of his death he was retiring from general practice to take up a full time post as medical officer of health and school medical officer. He had held positions as police surgeon to the Ince Division of Lancashire County police and was medical officer of health and school medical officer for Hindley Urban District. Chronnell was a fellow of the Society of Medical Officers of Health and the Royal Institute of Public Health. He was also a president of Wigan Medical Society.
