Administrative / Biographical History

Crewe graduated from the University of Manchester in 1940. After holding house appointments at MRI and Stockport Infirmary, and being resident tuberculosis officer at Withington Hospital Manchester, she was school medical officer for Stockport from 1944 until 1974.Crewe married Edward Arnold in 1973, but continued to practice under her maiden name. Crewe was president of the Manchester Branch of the Medical Women's Federation, the North West Branch of the Society of Medical Officers of Health and of the School Health Service Council. She was also a member of Manchester Medical Society .
