Fleming studied at the University of Manchester and was house surgeon at MRI before working in general practice in Oldham and later in Wallasey. Fleming was assistant honorary surgeon at the Victoria Central Hospital Wallasey and a member of Liverpool Medical Institution. He died in Wallasey on 27 November 1945.
