MB BChir Camb 1938.
Clow was house surgeon and house physician at MRI. He applied for the post of medical registrar at MRI in 1940, but had applied to join the Navy, so it is unclear if he was appointed. Clow was also assistant resident medical officer at Crumpsall Hospital Manchester before being appointed surgeon lieutenant to the Navy. It was in this position that he was awarded the Albert Medal in Gold for extreme and heroic daring during the sinking of his ship, the HMS Ibis. .
