Bispam was a physician living in Salford and Great Lever, Lancashire in the early seventeenth century. He later moved to London where he became physician to Charles I and was in 1647 made Chancellor of Chester. During the Commonwealth Bispam went abroad in an embassy in the Royalist interest, visiting France, Genoa, Florence and Venice. He died in London in 1664.
