Maki 5 and 6 have been wrongly transposed in rebinding. 25.2 x 17.7 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 22 x 16.3 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No borderline or fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text with printed furigana. 10 lines to page, c. 20 characters to line. Renewed (early 19th century) front cover of satsu 1 only, with manuscript gedai: 神皇正統記 壹. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: 神皇正統記 + maki no. + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: The earliest recorded edition, followed only by one further edition in Keiō 2, 1866. Contents: History of Japan from the founding of the country by the gods to mid-14th century, emphasising the legitimate descent of the imperial rulers. Written between 1339 and 1343.
