      1 volume Condition: Good. Minor worm damage, mostly in margins of maki 1-2 and 7-8. Water-stained in places. Impression: Fairly sharp and clear, showing little evidence of worn type. Seals of ownership: None. Manuscript notes: None, except a signature, Emori 江森, written c. Kan'ei period, at lower right corner of front cover.

Scope and Content

Author/compiler: Pan Fu 潘府. Imprint: N.p, n.d. [mid- to late-Keichō period, c. 1605-15] No colophon. Description: Original vermilion front cover of former satsu 1 only. Title slip added at a later date, with manuscript gedai: 孔子通紀一二. Title from naidai. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: The only movable type edition of this work. Based on a Chinese Ming edition, as attested by reprinted prefaces dated 弘治十四年 (1501) and 弘治癸亥歳 (1503) and by two batsu dated 嘉靖壬戌 (1562) and 嘉靖癸亥 (1563). Contents: An account of the genealogy of Confucius, his sayings and acts during his lifetime, followed by details of his descendants and disciples and of ceremonies connected with him.
