The author writes concerning a servant in Lady Russell's service who she has written to recommend. He adds that the father of the servant was a good workman and house man. He mentions his disappointment at not seeing Lady Russell at Stratton when he is visiting Abberston and sends his wishes to Lord Tavistock for a safe return to England and wishes to his friend the Duke of Bedford.
