Scope and Content

The author writes concerning leases to distribute and fines and rents to be gathered from the tenants. He mentions that Mr Rotheram will go to Yorkshire to collect rents which he will return by banker's bill and Mr Dale will collect the Hartington rents which are paid by the tenants through their sheep and cattle selling at the Tideswell and Newhaven fairs - which have not been good of late and may affect the tenants' ability to pay Michaelmas rents, except those in corn country. He also mentions Mr [Keguton]'s bill and John Taylor at Pentrich who will return £110 next week. He adds that William Barker has collected from Heath which he will return to London and that John Whildon sent two bills to Mr Kinton. He writes that his ladies Anne and Diana are very well and that he's heard James Whildon will be interred on Thursday. Signed "Wm Grosvenor".
