Scope and Content

These papers are all related to the 2nd and 3rd Duke's involvement with horses. The items include certificates of age of horses sold; receipts of payment for horses; notes of horse trials and letters concerning horses.

Significant items include:

- the certificates of the foaling of horses bought at Newmarket, including Flying Childers, 1711-19;

- a list of the horses, sheep and cattle at Chatsworth, June 1720.
