The author writes concerning: Sir W. Clargis standing for parliament; the election for the county of Middlesex hanging in the balance with Gerrard and Hautry; his request that Lord Bedford allow his grandson Lord Tavistock to stand in the election; the precedent for young MPs having been set by Lord Godolphin's son in Cornwall and Lord Lister's son in Kent.
