Scope and Content

The author writes asking if Lord Hartington would ask the 3rd Duke of Devonshire whether he minds him taking a copy of the ceiling in the eating parlour in Devonshire House which he wishes to execute in his own room at Milton. He addes that he will be dining with Lord Sandwich at Hinchenbrooke tomorrow.

He also writes concerning the races at Peterborough and securing a house in the minster yard for Lord Hartington to stay in near the Deanery. He mentions Lord Hartington's brother and the black horse he secured being broken winded.
