Scope and Content

The author writes to her niece (by her half-sister Mary Finch) of a misunderstanding caused by her servant Writtle, concerning a matter of Lord Burlington's workmen which Writtle interpreted as a request from Lady Cleveland to ask Lord Burlington's man Ferret about curing the smell of common shoar [crabs] in Soho Square. Included with the letter is Mr Writtle's letter to Mr Ferret.
