Scope and Content

The author writes concerning her health and her mother's and their travelling plans put on hold. She writes of the recent death of the Duchess of Richmond and her children leaving Goodwood to go to town with Lady Caroline Fox.

She also writes concerning her relief to know Lady Hartington's breast has healed after the operation. She also mentions: hoping to see Lady Hartington in town in the Spring, having not gone to London last year owing to the smallpox outbreak there; her miscarriage and; her illness of the nerves after her last birth.

Administrative / Biographical History

Elizabeth Bedingfeld was the daughter of Sir Henry Arundell Bedingfeld, 3rd Bt. and Lady Elizabeth Boyle. She married Charles Biddulph, son of John Biddulph and Mary Arundell. Her married name became Biddulph.
