In these letters to Lord Burlington Henry Simpson keeps Lord Burlington abreast of the household affairs at Chiswick, Burlington House and Bolton.

Using an amanuensis, he writes concerning: the Queen and Prince William and Princesses Amelia and Caroline's visit to Chiswick to walk in the gardens and consume chocolate, coffee and syllabub; the plasterwork to be finished in the room next to the library (CS1/225/0);

his concern about a letter from Taylor with a threat from Mr Burwood and the potential ransacking of Lord Burlington's evidences; Sir William's intentions in this affair to possibly inform Lord Thanet; his fear that the value of Lord Burlington's estate may be exposed to the public by the investigations of these men (CS1/225/1);

the affair at court concerning the Earl of Thanet, Duke of Beaufort and Earl of Oxford (CS1/225/2);

the poor condition of the the hall and offices at Bolton adjoining and the crumbling walls and lack of lodging aside from the room used by Lord Burlington and Signor Senesino (CS1/225/3).
