Scope and Content

In these letters Lady Spencer writes to her nephew concerning a request to return Sir James Mackintosh a member of the next parliament after he is likely to lose his current seat to another candidate. She also writes of the 6th Duke's plans to visit Italy and hoping to hear of his travels. She later writes to thank him for what he has done to get Sir James Mackintosh into Parliament where his talents can be used against the opposition.

This group of letters also includes one Lady Spencer has written to George Agar-Ellis concerning he and Georgiana visiting Althorp and her invitation to Lord Clifden too. She also writes of a poultry show she is arranging at the Althorp farm.
