In these letters Lady Granby (as she was) writes to her husband's grandmother thanking her for her wishes for their happiness [in their marriage] and promises to always do all she can to deserve the favour of Lady Russell. She also writes asking why she has not heard from Lady Russell and Lady Elizabeth and hoping she has not done something to upset them; she mentions her hope to see them in London, where her husband has seen Peregrine and George for hunting.
