In these letters to his brother and sister-in-law, Frederick Cavendish writes to Lady Hartington to thank her Ladyship for the pair of garters and to Lord Hartington concerning Irish affairs including seeing Harry Fox at Holland House who approves of Lord Hartington's measures in Ireland and their father's concerns about Irish affairs. He also writes of: Chiswick and the health of Lord Hartington's children and Lady Burlington; their father suggesting he or George write to Mr Bagshaw; George getting very drunk on board the fleet; his gratitude to Lord Hartington for his military promotion; agreeing to procure some madeira and other supplies for Lord Hartington; an account of seeing their father and his worsening health.
