The Primate of Ireland, Hugh Boulter, writes to William Cavendish, 3rd Duke of Devonshire (in his role as the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland) about his views on the 3rd Duke's administration and in the capacity as Primate.

His letters include mention of: Edward Walpole as secretary; an issue with the levels of silver and gold coin in the country; Mr Gardiner's reputation and appointment to the Privy Council; the chaplaincies and Dr St George; the affair of Mr Nugent and Captain Maguire; the trial of Henry Barry, Lord Santry and the possibility of saving him from execution and; suitable replacements for the Lord Chancellor.
