Scope and Content

The author reports to his father his arrival in Lyon the previous weekend after a journey of eleven days and says they will leave for Provence as soon as he receives his father's reply. He explains that if he is unable to find the tutors he needs in Aix, they will move on to Marseilles where he has been assured there are better ones. He promises to write from each place they stop over. Written from Lyon. Dated 22 March. Addressed to Lord Viscount Halifax, London. Written in French.
