MRCS LRCP 1939.
Leigh studied medicine at Manchester and held junior appointments at Salford Royal Hospital and Hope Hospital Salford. He served in the RAMC before settling in general practice in Higher Broughton, where he was an appointed factory surgeon. He was the father of the film maker and writer Mike Leigh.
