'Harry' McEntee gained his medical education at Dublin University and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. He was in general practice in Whalley Range, Manchester, for most of his career. During the second world war, his practice was almost entirely wiped out, but he continued in Manchester and was a member of the local medical board. McEntee died suddenly while making up a prescription, on 29 December 1946, aged only 49.
