Eric William Lupton, b 1946.

Lupton was born in Sale on 27 December 1946 and was educated at Altrincham Grammar School and the University of London, gaining his medical qualifications in 1970 and his MD in 1980. He returned to Manchester as senior research registrar in 1977, and in 1980 became senior registrar in urology. Lupton was later consultant urologist to the University Hospital of South Manchester.
