Administrative / Biographical History

MRCS LRCP 1893.

Steinthal studied medicine at Owens College, where he won the medal for mental diseases, and held house appointments at Warrington and Oldham Infirmaries and at St Mary's Hospital. He was resident assistant medical officer to the Manchester Workhouse Wards and then at Crumpsall Workhouse Infirmary before settling in general practice in Disley, near Stockport. He served in the RAMC and was officer commanding the East Lancs. Field Ambulance. He was a GP in West Didsbury, Manchester.
