Author/compiler: Manase Dōsan 曲直瀨道三, 1507-94, known as Dōsan I 道三 (初代), uncle and adoptive father of Manase Gensaku (q. v.). Imprint: N.p., n.d. [c. Keichō period, 1596-1615] . A batsubun, signed by Dōsan and dated Tenshō 12 (1584) is printed at end of text in each of the three kan. This does not refer to the date of printing. Batsubun reads: 斯一册予既及頽齢故強勉而啓秘記要而即爲門 / 生以老音爲泉洲松山好春公詳使講授焉終一覧 / 而染老筆畢 / 于時天正十二年秋日 / 洛下翠竹院一溪溲道三 (花押). Description: 3 kan, 3 satsu, bound in 1 vol. (western style). (上) ff. [1] (mokuroku), 43; (中) ff. 42; (下) ff. [1] (mokuroku), 51. 26.3 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji. Movable type. Printing frame 21.6 x 16.3 cm. Double-line borders with 'flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text with handwritten kunten and kaeriten in black ink, and kutoten in red. 13 lines to page, 21 characters to line. Original covers lacking. Bound in half-leather, western style. Title from naidai, below which is printed: 日東 雖知苦齋道三校錄. Hashiragaki: Haizai itō jō 配劑醫燈上 (chū 中, ge 下) + folio no. Edition: First printed edition. Contents: Quotations from various early medical works on the treatment of disorders, arranged under the names of diseases.

- 1 volume Condition: Fair. Some worm damage, mostly repaired, and extensive water staining. Impression: Clear and sharp, with little sign of type wear. Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal of Sir Ernest Satow and square red seal, Kenkendō zō 乾乾堂藏 on first page of each maki. Manuscript notes: Textual annotations in upper margins and at end of list of contents in maki 上 and 中. All appear to date, like the kunten, from Kan'ei period or earlier.
