(Maki 1) ff. 2 (序), 1-2a (目録), 2b-32; (2) ff. 2 (目録), 3-21; (3) ff. 1 (目録), 2-30; (4) ff. 1 (目録), 2-26; (5) ff. 2 (目録), 3-33; (6) ff. 2 (目録), 3-37, 2 (跋). 27.5 x 19.1 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 22 x 16.1 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text, with a few printed furigana and dakuten. 11 lines to page, 24-26 characters to line. Original dark brown covers with damaged remains of original printed title slips on left. Gedai: E-iri (tsunogaki) Kawachi kagami meishoki 繪入 (角書) 河内鑑名所記. Title at head of preface: 河内國名所記. Mokurokudai: 河内名所記. No naidai at head of main text. Hashiragaki: Kawachi kagami 河内鑑 + maki no. + folio no. Edition: The only recorded pre-modern edition. Contents: An illustrated guide to places of historic interest in the province of Kawachi, written by a native of the province who was also an accomplished haikai and kyōka poet. This accounts for the large number of such poems quoted in the text, including five by Saikaku. The names of the 260 poets whose works are quoted appear in a list on ff. 33-37 of maki 6. The work opens with a 2-folio preface by Kitamura Kigin 北村季吟 and ends with a 2-folio batsu signed by Okanishi Ichū 岡西惟中, dated Enpō 7 (1679). This is the earliest known guide to Kawachi province.

- 6 volumes Condition: Generally good, apart from minimal worm damage in maki 1, water stains and soiled corners. Impression: Clear and sharp, not far from shozuri. Illustrations: A total of 71 single- and double-page sumizuri illustrations, the majority showing panoramic views of temples, shrines and historic sites in Kawachi province. Distribution of illustrations: (maki 1) 10; (maki 2) 10; (3) 10; (4) 15; (5) 12; (6) 14. Seals of ownership: Two oblong red seals, Okada Tadashi no zōsho 岡田眞之藏書, and Shūhō bunko (or Akimine bunko) 秋峰文庫, on first page of each maki. Manuscript notes: Date (first month, Man'en 2, 1861) 萬延二年 / 西正月吉日, on mikaeshi of maki 1. Place names, signatures, and part of mokuroku copied on mikaeshi and back endpaper of maki 3 and 5.
