Scope and Content

Variant title: Jūni gasshō gobu hiden 十二合掌五部秘傳. Author/compiler: Unknown. Imprint: N.p., Jōkyō 1, 1684. Kanki on fol. 17a reads: 貞享元年甲子季冬上旬. Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, in a slip-case. ff. [1] (目録), 17. 18.9 x 13.3 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 16.2 x 12.3 cm. Single-line borders. Single fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text with printed okurigana and kaeriten, with some siddham characters interspersed. 8 lines to page, 15 characters to line. Original yellow covers, with original printed title slip. Gedai: Kaisei (tsunogaki) shuinzu 改正 (角書) 手印圖. Title from naidai. Hashiragaki: Shuinzu 手印圖 + folio no. Edition: The only recorded edition of Edo period. Contents: A Shingon Buddhist work on making symbolic signs with the fingers.
