    • 1 volume Condition: Good. No worm damage, but many folios are slightly discoloured through staining. Impression: The type has suffered considerable wear. Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal, Seisō bunko 西荘文庫 (seal of Ozu Keisō 小津桂窓), on slip pasted to front cover and on last page of text. Large oblong black (blue ?) seal, Un'enka zōshoki 雲煙家藏書記 (seal of Kashima Seibē 鹿島清兵衞) in centre of mikaeshi. Small red seal, Kikosai zō 貴古齋藏, on last page of text. Another small red seal, 魯德福印, printed inkoku, on first page of text. Manuscript notes: No notes, but shubiki in red ink added sparingly throughout the text.

Scope and Content

Author/compiler: Unknown. Imprint: N.p., n.d. [latter part of Keichō period, c. 1605-15] . No colophon. Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, in a chitsu case. ff. 72. 28.7 x 19.8 cm. Fukurotoji. Movable type. Printing frame 23.2 x 17.6 cm. Single-line borders. 'Flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin. Katakana-majiri text, without furigana or kutōten. 12 lines to page, 22-25 characters to line. Mid-blue covers, not original but probably 17th century, with damaged title slip bearing manuscript gedai: 保暦間記 全. Title from naidai at head of text. Hashiragaki: Hōryaku kanki 保暦間記 + folio no. Edition: Of the three movable type editions recorded in Kokatsujiban no kenkyū, this is the earliest (Dai isshu-bon 第一種本), datable to latter part of Keichō period on grounds of hanshiki. The other two editions are in 2 kan with double borders. Neither is dated. The first blockprinted edition was published in Kanbun 11 (1671). Contents: Historical outline of events during the 180-year period between the Hōgen wars (1156) and the death of Emperor Go-Daigo in Ryakuō 1 暦応元年, 1338. Written by an anonymous author long after the events.
