Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, in a chitsu case. ff. 13 (mokuroku on fol. la). 27 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 21.9 x 17.5 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text, with printed dakuten, kutōten and a few furigana. 15 lines to page, c. 26 characters to line. Section headings marked by black triangles (▲). Original dark blue covers, badly rubbed, with original printed title slip. Gedai: E-iri (tsunogaki) amida hadaka monogatari 繪入 (角書) あミたはたか物語. Title from mokuroku-dai. No other naidai. Bidai: はたか物語終. Hashiragaki: はたか + folio no. (mostly illegible owing to condition of book). Edition: The first edition was published in Meireki 2 (1656), 11 lines to the page, without illustrations. However, according to Kana-zōshi shūsei 仮名草子集成, vol. 1, pp. 527-9, this was followed by an illustrated edition published by Shōkai 松會, possibly in Kanbun 6 寛文六年 (1666). The present copy agrees in all respects with maki 上 of this edition, as described above, and undoubtedly belongs to it. Furthermore, Amida kankinshō あみだかんきん抄 (16107.h.15) is almost certainly a copy of maki 下 of the present work, Amida hadaka monogatari. Contents: A kana-zōshi work in the form of questions put by Ozasa no Tametada 小笹爲忠 to the monk Ikkyū 一休 about Buddhist doctrines concerning Amida Buddha, and Ikkyū's explanation expressed in Simple language.
