(Maki 上) ff. 4 (目録), 107; (maki 下) ff. 7-118. 21.9 x 15.8 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 17 x 13.5 cm. (average). No borders. No fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text, with musical pointing and other forms of notation printed on right of each column of text. 6 lines to page, 16-17 characters to line. Deep blue front cover of maki 上 and back cover of maki 下, late-Edo period, embossed with a wave design. Title slip of maki 上, printed from badly worn blocks, bears gedai: 太皷頭附謠 上. No naidai. Title from gedai. Hashiragaki: no title; two sets of folio numbering in upper and lower parts of hanshin. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: The only recorded edition of this work. The present copy is a 19th century reprint from the original blocks of Jōkyō 4 (1687), issued by a consortium of publishers and book dealers of Edo, Ōsaka and Kyōto, beginning with Suharaya Mohē 須原屋茂兵衞 and ending with Katsumura Ihē 勝村伊兵衞, as attested by an okuzuke on different paper following the last folio of maki 下. This okuzuke is headed 三都書物問屋. Contents: Extracts from 130 libretti of nō plays, containing the parts scored for taiko 太鼓 (drum) only. The plays, ranging from Takasago 高砂 to Shōjō 猩々, are selected from all schools of nō drama.
