    • 2 volumes Condition: Good, apart from a few stains and rubbed covers. Impression: Not shozuri, but reasonably sharp and clear. Illustrations: A total of 86 sumizuri illustrations, occupying the lower half of the page: 15 in maki 上, of which 12 are portraits of poets, 32 in maki 中, and 34 in maki 下. Most of them illustrate scenes from the poems. Seals of ownership: None.

Scope and Content

Author/compiler: Unknown. Imprint: [Kyōto] , Yoshida Saburōbē, Itō Heihachi, Genroku 4, 1691. Kanki reads: 元禄四年辛未正月吉辰 / 書肆 / 吉田三郎兵衛 / 伊藤平八. Description: 2 kan, 2 satsu, in a box. Incomplete copy: maki 中 and 下 only. 22.1 x 15 cm. Original pale buff covers with only vestiges of original title slips. No gedai. Edition: A late impression from the first edition. Kanki of earlier impressions contain the publisher's name Itō Heihachi 伊藤平八 as well as Yoshida Saburōbē but all were printed from the same blocks. A further edition followed in Tenmei 1 (1781). Contents: An anthology of waka poems on numerical themes, e.g. the four seasons, eight landscape views, etc.
