Author/compiler: Zhu Xi 朱熹, Confucian scholar, 1130-1200. Imprint: N.p., n.d. [c. Genroku period, 1688-1704] . No colophon. Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in western style. ff. 4 (preface), 17. 27.2 x 19 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 21.6 x 16.8 cm. Single-line borders all round. Fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text, with printed kutōten but no kunten (save in manuscript on first page of preface). 8 lines to page (large characters), 16 lines (small characters), 17 characters to line. Large, bold kaisho script. Original off-white front cover only, with original title slip printed on silk. Gedai: 大學章句. Naidai: Daigaku... Shuki shōku 大學･･･ 朱熹章句. Hashiragaki: Shisho daigaku 四書大學 + folio no. Text paper: kōzo, dyed pale yellow. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: Undated blockprint, late 17th century. One of four works in a set of commentaries on the Confucian classics entitled Shisho shūchū 四書集註. Contents: Text of the Daxue 大學, with commentary by Zhu Xi 朱熹. Based on a Southern Song edition with preface dated 淳熙己酉, 1189.
