This kanki relates also to the companion edition of Hōgen monogatari 保元物語 (no. 334, q. v.) published at the same time. Description: 3 kan, 3 satsu, bound in 1 vol. (western style). (1) ff. [1] , 33; (2) ff. [1] , 35; (3) ff. [1] , 35. 25.2 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 22 x 17.5 cm. Double-line borders, one thick, one thin, with 'flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin. Katakana-majiri text, with printed furigana and kutōten. 11 lines to page, 22-26 characters to line. Light dusty-pink front cover of satsu 1 only, dating from late-Edo period, with traces of embossed design. Within a western style half-leather binding. Handwritten title slip at upper left. Gedai and naidai identical. Hashiragaki: Heiji 1 (2, 3) 平治一 (二, 三) + folio no. Edition: The first blockprinted edition. Contents: A war tale (gunki monogatari) which, together with Hōgen monogatari (q. v.), tells of the struggles for imperial succession in the mid-12th century. Heiji monogatari deals with the second and decisive phase (Heiji no ran 平治の乱) of 1160, and places its chief emphasis on incidents in the conflict between the Taira and Minamoto families.

- 1 volume Condition: Fair to good, with minimal worm damage and water staining. Cropped at top and bottom. Impression: Generally sharp and clear, with only slight evidence of wear on blocks. Seals of ownership: Red oblong seal of Kuchiki Bunko 朽木文庫 on first page of each maki.
