Printing frame 18-18.5 x 13.6 cm. Single-line borders. Single fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text, with printed okurigana and kaeriten. 8 lines to page, 16 characters to line. Renewed yellow front cover of maki 上 only, embossed with design of concentric and interlocking circles. Title slip on left with manuscript gedai: Shintō ketsugihen jō 神道決疑編上. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: 神國決疑編上 (中, 下) + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: First printed edition. Next edition not published until Kyōwa 1, 1801. Contents: A work of Shinto dialectic, asserting the underlying unity between the basic tenets of Shinto, Confucianism and Buddhism.
