(preface dated Genroku 10, 1697). No colophon. See under Edition below for further details. Description: Incomplete copy. Kanbun text with okurigana and kaeriten. 9 lines to page, 17-18 characters to line. Original dark blue front cover of satsu 1 only, embossed with a rhomboid and floral pattern. Upper half of original printed title slip (lower part missing) with gedai: 經山獨菴叟・・・ . Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: 日本撰述 (at head of hanshin, in a frame) 經山獨菴叟護法集 + maki no. + [title of individual work] + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding. Edition: The only recorded edition, incorrectly dated Genroku 5 元禄五年 (1692) in Bussho kaisetsu daijiten 仏書解説大辞典. This date appears on last line of Dokuan's batsu on final folio of maki 14, in the form: 元禄壬申臘月十八日獨菴叟題. Date of publication must be in or after Genroku 10 (1697), since this is the date appended to the author's second preface on 10th folio of maki 1, in the following form: 元禄丁丑七月十六日獨菴叟自題. Dokuan's role as publisher may be inferred from the phrase Dokuan zōhan 獨菴藏板, which is printed on the hanshin of each folio. Contents: Collected works of the Zen monk Genkō 玄光 or Dokuan 獨菴, including his Dokuan dokugo 獨菴獨語, Benbenwaku 辨々惑, Jikeigo 自警語, etc.
