Single-line borders. Fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text, with a few furigana. 11 lines to page, c. 22 characters to line. Original mid-blue covers. Title slips missing. Manuscript gedai on maki 5: 勇士壱言集. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: Ichigonshū 一言集 + maki no. + folio no. Contents: Brief accounts of the exploits of famous Japanese warriors from the Tenbun 天文 period (1532-55) onward, in 120 sections.

- 5 volumes Condition: Good, apart from some worm damage in all maki. Impression: Sharp and clear. Blocks show only slight signs of wear. Illustrations: 11 double-page (mihiraki) illustrations in an attractive, simple style, free from excessive detail. Distribution: (maki 1) 3, (2) 2, (3) 2, (4) 2, (5) 2. Artist not named. Seals of ownership: Square red seal in an ornate frame, Hakubunkan zōshoin 博文館藏書印, on first page of each maki.
