Kanbun text, without printed kunten or reading marks. 9 lines to page (double for commentary), 17 characters to line. Headings in mokuroku and throughout text are printed inkoku. Original yellow front cover of satsu 1 only, with faintly embossed design. No title slip. Manuscript gedai (late Edo period) : Kobun zenshū jō 古文前集上.Title from naidai at head of each maki. Title at head of mokuroku: Shoju chūkai kobun shinpō zenshū 諸儒註解古文眞寶前集. Hashiragaki: Kobun zen 古文前 + maki no. + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding. - 1 volume Condition: Excellent, apart from some brown stains. Entirely free from worm damage. Note, however, that the area within printing frame of each folio has been cut out and pasted on to new backing paper of larger size, thus allowing wider margins. No indication of date of this re-backing. Impression: Fair, but type shows distinct signs of wear in places. Seals of ownership: None. Manuscript notes: Kunten and kaeriten in black, and a few scattered shubiki and kutōten in red, added throughout text c. Kan'ei period.
