Description: 18 kan (6 + 6 + 6), formerly in 3 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. Each group of 6 kan is numbered from 1 to 6 in (a) 目録, (b) maki heading (巻頭題), and (c) on hanshin of each maki; there is no continuous numbering of maki 1-18. Each former satsu, comprising 6 kan, is headed by a 6-folio table of contents (目録). 26.1 x 17.6 cm. Fukurotoji. Movable type. Printing frame 20.8 x 15.8 cm. (average). Double-line borders all round. Vertical rules between columns. 'Flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text, without printed kunten or reading marks. 9 lines to page, 19 characters to line. Original vermilion (tan) front cover of satsu 1 only, with embossed geometrical design. No title slip or gedai. Naidai, at head of each mokuroku 目録 and each maki: Shinkan kakurin gyokuro 新刋鶴林玉露. Hashiragaki: Kakurin 鶴林 + maki no. + folio no. Between surviving front cover and its mikaeshi, one page from an old book (a katakana-majiri movable type edition, possibly of selections from Lunyu chao 論語抄, 15 lines to page) has been used to reinforce the cover. Edition: The only recorded movable type edition. Copy in Tōyō Bunko contains a manuscript shikigo dated Genna 8 (1622), thus establishing the date of this edition as pre-1622. Contents: Text of Helin yulu 鶴林玉露, a Chinese zuihitsu work combining critical comments on poetry (詩話), anecdotes (小説) and the sayings of literary figures. Compiled in mid-13th century.

- 1 volume Condition: Excellent. Entirely free from stains and worm damage. Impression: Smudged in places, indicating either worn type or uneven inking (or both). Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal, Sōyō sanbō zōsho 掃葉山房藏書 (seal of Tōjō Kindai 東條琴臺) on first page of maki 1 of satsu 1, 2 and 3. Manuscript notes: Shubiki and kutōten in red, and a few kunten and corrected ji in black, all added c. Kan'ei period.
