    • 1 volume Condition: Good, apart from a few stains. Impression: Slightly atozuri. Seals of ownership: Octagonal British Museum stamp, MVSEVM BRITANNICVM, on fol. 11b. Manuscript notes: (1) Brief notes in Kaempfer's hand, mostly romanised transcriptions of place names. (2) Note on paper slip pasted to front cover: A Japanese Book of roads. Old shelfmark, Pr: Or: 141, on mikaeshi.

Variant title: Dōchū kagami 道中鑑. Author/compiler: Unknown. Imprint: Kyōto, Kikuya Shichirōbē, Genroku 4, 1691. Kanki on fol. 12a reads: 元禄四未正月吉日改新板 ／ 京寺町通松原上ル丁 ／ 菊屋七郎兵衛. Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, in a box. ff. 1-6, 7 / 8, 9 / 10, 11-12. 127 x 91 mm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 113 x 84 mm. Single-line borders. Single fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text with printed furigana. 11 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line. Original black covers, with original printed title slip which repeats date of revision quoted under Imprint above, followed by gedai: 今極 (角書) 道中鑑･･･ . No naidai. Title from gedai. Hashiragaki: 道中付 + folio no. Contents: A brief pocket guide to routes leading from Kyōto.
