    • 1 volume Dimensions: 25.5 x 18 cm. Printing frame: 21.2 x 16.5 cm. Condition: Good. Illustrations Sumi woodcut illustrations of 90 kinds of sea bream. Impression: Atozuri. Manuscript notes: A five-line inscription by Minakata Kumagusu at the end of first preface. Some illustrations have Latin names added by hand (by Minakata Kumagusu?). Seals of ownership: 南方熊楠蔵書之印章 (rectangular red seal) on first page.

Scope and Content

Translated title: 'Accurate drawings of fishes'. Author/compiler: Okukura Tatsuyuki 奥倉辰行. Imprint: Tōto: Suiseidō 水生堂 (mikaeshi). Prefaces dated Ansei 2 [1855] and Ansei 3 [1856]. Bonrei dated Ansei 4 [1857]. Description: 1 volume. 2, 2, 2, 37; 29 ff. Rebound in Western style. Vermilion front cover only retained, embossed with stylised wave pattern in kirazuri. Printed title slip: 鯛部/巻之一上. An additional folio at the end of the volume carries an advertisement of 12 works by the publisher Kinkadō. Contents: Illustrations of Japanese sea bream.
