Eason Wilkinson studied medicine at Edinburgh University, qualifying with the MD in 1838. He studied at a number of European universities before coming to Manchester to practice in 1840. He was a physician at Ardwick and Ancoats Dispensary and in 1844 elected to the honorary staff of MRI. Wilkinson presided at the annual meeting of the BMA at Manchester in 1877.
