Victor Ronald Tindall, known as Vic, was consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, before being appointed professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Manchester in 1971. He had studied medicine at Liverpool and while he was a student played Rugby for England. He held various junior posts in Liverpool and was lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology before being appointed senior lecturer to the Welsh National School of Medicine. Tindall held a number of scholarships and honorary lectureships. Tindall was a member of council and chairman of the education board of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
