Administrative / Biographical History

MRCS 1884, LRCP 1887.

Somers, the son of Alexander Somers, was a medical student at the University of Manchester and won the Bradley and Turner scholarships. He held resident appointments at MRI and Salford Royal Hospital then settled in general practice in Pendleton where he continued until his death. Somers was a member of Manchester Pathological Society. Somers was also very interested in theatre and dramatics and was a Justice of the Peace for Salford for over twenty years. He was also a strong supporter of the Liberal Party and was president of the West Salford liberal Association. Somers died on 25 March 1930 of pneumonia.
