Administrative / Biographical History

Roberts was a chemistry graduate of the University of Manchester, who originally worked as a researcher at the University and in local industry. In 1919 he entered Manchester Medical School, and graduated in 1924. In 1925, he was awarded the MD with gold Medal. In the same year, he became director of a clinical research laboratory at RMI. In 1928 he moved to Sheffield. Roberts' areas of interest was digestive problems, and he published many article son the subject. He was later a pathologist at Park Hospital, Davyhulme, and pathologist at Bury Royal Infirmary. Roberts also lectured at Manchester College of Technology on histology and bacteriology.
