James Bethune Scott, the son of the Manchester doctor John Scott (see below), was born in 1888. He gained his medical education at the University of Manchester and then served as lieutenant in the RAMC. After the war, he settled in general practice first in Essex and then in Putney and Barnes in the London suburbs. Scott died on 9 February 1965.
