MRCS LSA 1850, MD Lond 1858.
Skinner was a surgeon living on Oxford Road, Manchester. He was house surgeon at MRI from 1851 to 1852, and then was honorary surgeon at St Mary's Hospital from 1853 to 1856. Skinner was later surgeon to the Hospital and Dispensary for Diseases of Children. According to an acquaintance, 'A chandalier [sic] fell on his head at a party in Oxford Road and he died some years after of cerebral abscess'. This incident may be what is referred to in the MRI minutes for 15 December 1851, when Skinner is said to be 'disabled by serious accident'.
