Administrative / Biographical History

MB ChB Manch 1928.

Sheppard graduated in medicine at the University of Manchester and held house appointments at MRI before being appointed AMO to Crumpsall Hospital. He later went to Somerset where he was on the hospital staff of the Bridgwater Hospital and then retired to Bath in 1968. In 1976, Sheppard donated to the Medical School an early sphygmomanometer, a scarifier and some certificates relating to his grandfather (William Henry Freer, qualified at Guy's Hospital c 1812).
