Administrative / Biographical History

Dent studied medicine at Cambridge University and Charing Cross Hospital. He was a consultant physician in geriatric medicine at Crumpsall Hospital from 1951-1976. He was also medical director of the St Ann's Hospice, the first hospice in Greater Manchester, from 1971 to 1977.
